We tend to think of snacks as high-calorie confectionery or savories, but by changing how you snack, you can quickly make snacking a feel-good habit that leads to beauty and health. Snacks should be easy to eat, without wasting time or energy. You know what foods you have close at hand, so here’s how to choose which ones to eat. If your skin isn’t looking quite right, try a food that is rich in Vitamin A, like eggs or cheese. Or, if you find that you’re getting tired easily, choose citrus fruits, which are rich in citric acid, or something with plenty of calcium, like yogurt. Women are prone to iron deficiency, so prevent this by snacking on dry fruit such as raisins or prunes, or some nuts.
Next, make sure not to increase your total daily calorie intake. Aim to keep snacks to less than about 200 kcal per serving *, and reduce that amount from your meals.
